On the main stage of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, this year will see Elaine Saliba and Gordon Bonello. Rodney Gauci will be interviewing the singers before and after their performances from the backstage.
Elaine Saliba started her career in television at a very early age. She was only twelve yearsold when she first appeared on TVM’s popular kids’ show Owkej. Later, she presented several other shows dedicated to children and youth. More recently she co-hosted a number of variety and current affairs programmes and held a major role in a popular local TV series. Elaine’s background and experience in the music festivals includes Indifest, Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza and the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
Elaine is a professional Process Engineer and holds a Master Degree in Environmental Engineering.
Gordon Bonello is a local popular personality in the field of drama. He is loved for his various roles in a number of TV series including the award winning role of a schizophrenic in L-Evanġelisti. Gordon is mostly noted for interpreting the character of Ramon Pollacco in last year’s entertaining TV series Deċeduti and for his multiple roles during the former Sunday evening show called Min Imissu. Gordon’s background includes experience as a casting coordinator in the blockbuster movies Troy, Munich and Da Vinci Code.
At present Gordon together with Rodney Gauci, is involved with the satire section of a current affairs talk show on TVM.
Rodney Gauci is mostly noted for the several characters he plays in popular TV sitcoms such as Percival in Deċeduti, Sharona, Edward Bruno and Alejandro in Min Imissu and the hot and famous Ġorg on the current daily evening show TVHemm.
As a child he formed part of the well-known Malta’s Children Choir, directed by Mro. Ray Mangion. In 2004, he formed part of the Young Talent Team, the group that represented Malta in the Junior Eurovision which was held in Lillehammer, Norway.
Since then Rodney delved into theatre and drama. We have seen him taking part in several stage productions as well as popular local TV series including L-Evanġelisti.
Rodney is a qualified teacher of Information Technology. Yet, his passion for acting led him to shift from teaching to acting.
